One hundred years ago, a small group of people came together to bring our community a modern hospital. What was true 100 years ago remains true today: hospitals and healthcare are essential to everyone.

Through our work at the Healthcare Foundation and your contributions, we’re helping SMH be the best it can be and bringing excellent medical care to everyone. It is only with your generosity that we can keep providing high-quality and accessible care to everyone in our community.

In honor of the original $40,000 our community raised to open the hospital in 1925, all gifts, up to a total of $40,000, made between now and the end of the year are being matched by Tom and Ruth Regan.

Yes, Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation Inc. is a U.S. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. When you give online, an acknowledgment will be emailed to you. That acknowledgment is your receipt for tax purposes. For gifts sent to our office, we will send a tax receipt to you through the mail. Please consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility in the U.S. or your country of residence.

An unrestricted gift is a contribution that can be used where it’s needed most. Unrestricted gifts enable Sarasota Memorial to immediately meet new opportunities and challenges in today’s dynamic healthcare environment. Your gift impacts the future of medicine today.

You can direct your gift to a specific purpose or program at Sarasota Memorial. Current priority initiatives are listed on the online giving form. Choose the area you would like to support from the “I want to support” drop-down menu. If you are mailing in your gift, please include your designation in an accompanying letter.

For gifts made online, check the box that says, “I would like the gift to remain anonymous.” Please include a note indicating your wish to remain anonymous for gifts sent to our office.

Yes, when completing the online form, click the “Give securely” button and select an option from the “Make a Recurring Monthly Gift” pop-up window. The monthly gift you designate will be automatically billed to your credit card each month unless you modify or cancel it.

To honor or remember a loved one, friend, or family member, or thank an outstanding caregiver, you can make a tribute gift online. Check the box “I would like to dedicate this gift,” select the type of dedication, and enter the honoree’s name. If you would like us to notify someone about the gift, check the “I would like someone to receive communication about this gift” and provide the person’s name, email, and mailing address.

If mailing a check, please list the name of the person being remembered, honored, or thanked and provide the name and address of the person to be notified of the gift.

We will send a notification of your gift. We do not disclose the amount of your donation. If you donate anonymously, the notification will state that an anonymous donor made a gift.
